POSITION DESCRIPTION

Quality Assurance Specialist - Zone 5

February 2002

REPORTING STRUCTURE Field support position reports to Director of Quality Assurance, Compass Group North American Division. RESPONSIBILITIES Regional responsibilities surround oversight of food safety compliance and related field support. Respond to complaints of foodborne illness/injury, and emerging food safety concerns and crises. Support third party food safety audit program. Review and respond to health department inspections. Act as liaison with regulatory officials. COMPENSATION Competitive, commensurate with experience, with excellent benefits package. LOCATION Zone 5-based candidate sought - Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington. (No relocation package is available.) Travel is required; estimate 50% to 75% initially. EDUCATION Degree required. Food-related and advanced education desired. Must be credentialed; ideal candidate will be Registered Sanitarian or equivalent. EXPERIENCE Ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of combined regulatory and industry experience; industry experience must be in a food safety support role. Contract foodservice experience is most desired. SKILLS Ability to develop strong partnerships with regional senior management teams, as well as field operators. Strong written and verbal communication skills are critical. Investigative and research skills a must, as well as training and coaching aptitude. Multi-task and project management proficiency and time management skills are required. Ability to function effectively within a corporate culture is necessary.
